Baan Hom Samunphrai is the residential option, and it is a genuinely different proposition from every other school on this list. Set on a herb garden property in rural Saraphi, it teaches Nuad Boran alongside herbal medicine, herbal steam bathing and Rasidaton (Thai yoga self-care), with students living on site, eating three meals a day at the school and practising in a structure that begins with an hour of Rasidaton at seven in the morning. The teaching is led by Homprang Chaleekanha, whose specialisms include womb-lifting and postpartum care - material that most Thai massage schools do not teach at all and that has become one of the school's defining offerings. Classes cap at twelve. It suits students who want immersion rather than a commute, who are interested in the herbal and traditional-medicine dimension of Thai bodywork rather than technique alone, and who specifically want women's health and postpartum training. It suits less well anyone who wants city nightlife, flexible hours, or a cheap certificate.
