Chetawan Thai Traditional Massage School - Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai

Thai massage training class in Thailand

Chiang Mai

About the school

The Wat Pho network's northern outpost, and the only way to get the Wat Pho certificate without going to Bangkok. It teaches the central royal-style syllabus in a city otherwise dominated by northern-style schools, which makes it a deliberate choice rather than a default one: students who want the formal, upright, thumb-and-palm Bangkok approach, or who specifically want Wat Pho paper, come here instead of to the Old Medicine Hospital or ITM. Along with Salaya it is one of the network campuses that has historically run professional-length programmes rather than short courses only. The building is on Pracha Uthit Road just north of the old city, open seven days, with daily start dates for the flagship 30-hour course - unusually flexible for a Wat Pho branch. What it does not offer is the northern lineage most people travel to Chiang Mai for: no Shivagakomarpaj rocking, no tok sen, no Sunshine-style flowing sequence.

Courses

  • General Thai Massage (30 hrs, 5 days)
  • Plus the wider Wat Pho network short-course menu including foot massage, oil massage and advanced medical Thai massage
  • Professional-length Thai massage programmes are offered at this campus and at Salaya

Course fees

General Thai Massage (30 hrs, 5 days): 12,000 THB registration fee
