Jack Chaiya Massage (Nerve Touch / Jap Sen lineage)
Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai
About the school
This is the surviving teaching line of Lek Chaiya - 'Mama Lek' - the Chiang Mai healer who developed Jap Sen or Nerve Touch, a herbal-and-nerve-focused variant of northern Thai massage that works directly along nerve pathways rather than following the standard sen line routine, and who used her own herbal preparations as an integral part of treatment. Her school on Ratchadamnoen Road trained a large share of the therapists and school owners now working in Chiang Mai. Her son, Kru Jack Chaiya, continues the lineage from premises on Wiang Kaew Road inside the north moat, teaching short courses daily and travelling internationally to teach. The material is genuinely distinct - most schools teach Jap Sen, if at all, as a technique bolted onto a standard routine, whereas here it is the tradition itself. It suits therapists who already have a Thai massage foundation and want something the market does not offer, and anyone specifically interested in Mama Lek's herbal approach.
