Suai Thai Massage Training Center

Phuket

Thai massage training class in Thailand

Phuket

About the school

Suai is the most substantial training operation in Phuket and the obvious choice if you want to combine serious study with the south rather than travelling to Chiang Mai. Japanese-owned and originally established in Bangkok in 2002 before relocating to Phuket in 2012, it teaches in English to international students in small groups, with a graded three-level Thai massage curriculum plus a wide spa-massage menu covering Swedish, Balinese, deep tissue, aromatherapy, sports and facial work. Its two senior teachers, Tum and Rin, each have more than twenty years of massage experience and around twenty years of teaching, and both came through Banyan Tree Spa - which tells you the orientation: this is a school with one eye firmly on the spa and resort employment market, not on lineage purity. It suits people who want employable, marketable skills across several modalities and who would rather be in Phuket than the north. It suits less well anyone chasing a traditional Chiang Mai lineage.

Established, long-running and well-reviewed, but the certificate should be understood as a private school certificate rather than a government-recognised qualification.
